UGANDA CULTURE EXPERIENCE

Day 1  Saturday  Arrive at Entebbe International Airport aboard Brussels Airlines at 21.45hrs you are met by the staff of UTB Holidays then you transfer to Kampala and check in the Fairway Hotel.
Night at Fairway Hotel.

Day 2  Sunday  After breakfast you go to your place of worship or relax at the Hotel. At 12.00 noon you are taken to the traditional cuisine restaurant down town for Lunch. Thereafter you will have a City tour beginning with a visit to Captain Lugard’s Fort at Old Kampala then Namirembe Cathedral you go to the Kingdom of Buganda’s Legislature at Mengo ( Bulange House) and to the King of Buganda’s Palace (Lubiri) from there you visit the Rubaga Cathedral and Kibuli Mosque. You will end the programme with a visit to the Ndere Cultural Center at Ntinda where you will attend the cultural dances festival at 6.00 pm. You will have dinner at the restaurant at Ndere then return to the Hotel.

Day 3  Monday After breakfast you drive to south western Uganda, you will begin with a stop at the Equator to take photographs, then proceed to the Igongo Culture Center at Biharwe. You will have Lunch at their restaurant in the afternoon you visit the Museum and explore the genesis of the Nkore Culture. At 5.00 pm you will attend another traditional dance festival thereafter you transfer to the Rwizi Arch Hotel in Mbarara and you check in.

Day 4  Tuesday After breakfast you drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park on arrival you check in at Lake Kitandara Bwindi Camp and then have Lunch. In the afternoon you take a walk around the Buhoma Bazaar and explore the craft makers and the craft market.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara Camp. (B,L,D)

Day 5  Wednesday After breakfast you go for the Batwa Cultural Experience, this a challenging but not too strenuous one hour hike through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, that will reward you with stunning vistas and the serenity of this ancient rain forest. Along the way you will learn about the healing plants and the delicate fare offered from the forest and how the Batwa collected wild honey, wild yams and mushrooms. You will inspect the traditional dwellings and participate in the traditional dances. Hear stories and learn the folklore of the Batwa pygmies from the elders, practice shooting their bow and arrows and join in a mock hunting party for approximately five hours.

Day 6 Thursday After breakfast you will begin your return journey to Kampala with a stop at Nabujuzi Wetland craft shop, to see the crafts made from the wetland plants then have Lunch. On arrival you check in at the Fairway Hotel.

Day 7 Friday After breakfast you drive to Jinja in eastern Uganda and then visit the Source of the Nile, the Mahatma Gandhi memorial and take a boat ride to the spot where the world’s longest river starts. You will have Lunch at the canteen then return to Kampala on your way you stop at Sezibwa falls to see the goddess of fertility.

Day 8 Saturday After breakfast you check out of the Hotel and go for shopping in Kampala City you will have Lunch in a local restaurant of your choice. At 3.00 pm you are transferred to Entebbe and you visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre UWEC at 6.30 pm you go to the Airport and check in for your departure flight on Brussels Airlines at 22.15 hrs.
